Been asked for some advice on a small compact/bridge camera sub- £500 but not really paid much attention to new cameras for a while now so thought i'd ask you guys for help?

Person in question was looking at a Canon Powershot sx430 until I pointed out the sales person fed them a line of b*ll, apparently you can handhold a x45 digital zoom in the the dark.

Should be-

good image quality

Smallish

Light

be able to do macro

have optical zoom

Has a viewfinder

The cheaper the better

Full Auto, with option to do full manual

Has canon stopped with G line of cameras??

Hi Shaun
Same as Mike, or maybe sell them your Xpro 1 &  that 60mm macro lens you don't like.
P.s you can hand hold a x45 zoom in the dark just don't take any pictures with it.

Cheers guys, tried to talk them in to an xpro1 or xa-1 type fuji but they really don't want to have to change lenses, going to lend them an old olympus Pen1 with a couple of lense to see how they get on with that and change thier minds.
