Sure the sign on that last one should read "Ian & Steve's coffee spot".

Week 4

Photograph Symmetry

Much like patterns, our eyes are naturally drawn to things that are symmetrical. Now a composition like this – with two equal parts – does seem to conflict with long standing rules in photography, specifically, the rule of thirds. Rules are meant to be broken – and in photography – if you're going to break a rule, be sure and shatter it for the best results!

Some great stuff this week

Posted a bit early but our lass wanted to picked them before she headed home.

 Week 5 General

 Photograph Shoes

Who doesn't own a great pair of shoes? They accompany us on our journeys and are often well worn with character. The Challenge is to showcase your footwear in an unexpected way. Change our perspective on a pair of old, smelly sneakers..... or go with a glossy high heal. Shoes are as varied as the people who wear them. Experiment!

Forgot the cards last night so I just had to pick them this morning

Week 6 General

Photograph Letters

Including words in your images introduces a graphic element for your viewers to interact with – further revealing the story of your image. Words can lend a particular voice to the composition – whether whimsical, like the image below or something with a bit more gravitas. Don't be afraid to go in tight and give us just a simple letter!
