Had a tiny go in the garden yesterday. Got to agree with Mr P. Macro is hard. This was about the best I could get. No dof though. Critique welcome as usual....

HI Mike 
That fly looks good to me , you will get very little DOP from that angle  you can
see the make up of the compound eyes with some of the mouth parts that is always good
and the colours are great .

As far as I`m concerned Mike, the bit that needs to be sharp is, so well done.  I subscribe to the camera club, YPU view that everything has to be sharp, less and less these days.  We are creating images to please, not so they can be put into text books.

Still not had a proper go at macro but i would be well happy with this Mike. I agree i with Ian on not having everything sharp makes a much more interesting image...
