Was told earlier today that there had been something on the radio news about some dogs been bitten by Adders at Newmillerdam, Just spent a while looking and it all seems to be “ a friend of a brothers aunties sisters grandma's hairdresser was told that a friends dog walking buddy has had a dog bitten” type situation.

I know a few of you are regulars over there and was wondering if anyone had seen one or signs of one? Used to really enjoy finding and photographing them and newmillerdam is a lot closer than where I used go, would be nice to know if it's a wild goose chase or not before humping all the macro gear over there.

I've never seen a snake anywhere. Even Fraser Island, which is supposedly the "most poisonous Island on the planet".

I`ve seen adders but not at Newmillerdam, although this is the second time I have heard that they are there.  I havn`t mentioned it before as I thought it was a joke.  Interesting!

Not wishing anyone's dog bitten but would be really nice if there was some adders there, used to have to go to Allerthorpe Common near York to be sure of seeing one.

Cheers Mike, that was the vet that was apparently on the radio.

Would have thought by now there would have been a photo or video with everyone having camera phones. Still a bit early in the year but going to go have a look when the weather warms up, a photo of 2 male adders fighting has always been on my photographic bucket list [smile]
